Full-scale rift white oak cabinetry with seamless integrated appliance facades and a 14-foot monolithic culinary island.
Project Overview
Architectural Context
Set among the vineyards of Sonoma Valley, this custom residence called for an architectural kitchen that celebrated natural timber warmth without sacrificing the clean, quiet geometry of modern California living.
The Brief & Design Challenge
The architectural brief required grain-matched rift white oak cabinetry spanning 24 linear feet, fully concealed Sub-Zero refrigeration and Miele dishwashers, and an oversized central island with waterfall Calacatta marble integration.
Craftsmanship & Joinery Details
- Continuous flitch-matched rift white oak veneers running horizontally across entire cabinet elevations
- Integrated push-to-open servo-drive hardware and touch-latch pantries
- Solid hardwood dovetailed cutlery organizers customized to the client's culinary tools
- Multi-step low-sheen polyurethane finish resistant to heat, UV exposure, and culinary spills
